Craft foam armor has the potential to look realistic and accurate. Not only is cheap, but its a great way to practice your crafting skills before you start moving on to the more expensive materials. In this vlog, Sachie shows you a quick guide on how to make basic armor pieces out of craft foam!

Armored cosplay is one of the more highly advanced and competitive styles of cosplay - have you cosplayed any characters that wear armor, or are you planning to?

  • Nice quick overview, Sachie.

I've used foam core board for props before, and unfortunately spray paint tends to eat away at the foam between the outside cardboard - I'm not sure that we'd have this issue for craft foam, but it's good to know about Jesso (sp?) to help with the paint non-absorption.
